Volunteer Chapter Advisor Application FY23

BBYO serves Jewish teens in grades 8-12 in different regions with a diverse menu of programming. The chapters across the country provide an outlet for teens to create and participate in experiences that develop leadership skills, a strong Jewish identity and build a community in which teens can explore social issues that are meaningful to their lives. Events are planned by teens, for teens and programming ranges from fun activities like ice skating and camping overnights, to communal Shabbat celebrations and leadership trainings. A parent, advisor, or regional staff member is always on hand to ensure safety and health. Through the COVID-19 pandemic, BBYO programming has smoothly transitioned into a virtual and hybrid model, with limited in-person programming in accordance with local health experts. Whether meetings and programs are in-person or on a screen, we're always having a great time! Through youth-led and staff-supported programs, BBYO gives our members opportunities to develop leadership skills and positively affect their communities, the world, and themselves. We constantly strive to provide more Jewish teens with more meaningful Jewish experiences each and every day, so that they may become the future Jewish leaders in their communities and in the Jewish world at large. Volunteer chapter advisors play a key role in the success of BBYO by working closely with teens to run strong chapter programs, develop leadership skills, and make their chapters great. This is an amazing opportunity to make an impact in the local Jewish community by empowering Jewish teens to do great things. This project is the first step in becoming a BBYO regional Volunteer Chapter Advisor.
